MENTOR // ANTHONY TAYLOR

My name is Anthony Taylor and I have lived in Anson County, NC my entire life. We lost my dad in a car
accident when I was 6 years old. God blessed my family with a great man that became my step dad and
I could not have asked for a better role model. My step dad enjoyed fishing, but he was not a hunter.
At the age of 12 my grandpa gave me my first rifle, sat me in a wooden ladder stand, and lit a fire in me
that 29 years later still burns hot.
My wife Sarah and I have been together for over 25 years and have 2 boys, Easton and Mason. I took
Sarah hunting before we got married and got to watch her kill her first deer. To this day it is one of my
greatest hunting memories. From that single experience she developed a love for hunting and she still
enjoys going whenever time permits.
Now that we have 2 boys we rarely get to hunt alone, and I would not have it any other way. I have
enjoyed watching them sharpen their skills as hunters the last 5 years and they continue to surprise me
with their knowledge of wildlife and the outdoors. Watching them mature into young men and as
hunters makes all the time and hard work worth it. I truly believe that if we do not introduce hunting to
the next generation the sport is destined to die off. Hunters are the last true conservationists, and it is
our responsibility to preserve these animals, their habitat, and the heritage of our children.

Genesis 9:3 – “Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I
give you everything.”
